After the Installation of Officers,
President Harmon gave the following presentation:

Two years ago, I was
elected Vice President and it seemed this day would be
an eternity away. On April 17th Pat Falk,
Barbara Sloan and I attended the District Conference, I
searched the Internet, read several Altrusa articles and
perused lots of information. Our home has since become
a definite Altrusa Home. My wonderful husband is
living, breathing Altrusa 24 hours a day.
At this point in time, our
Club is challenged to invest many hours and our
strengths to literacy. What an opportunity we have to
make Altrusa well known. Our officers, committee chairs
and I have many excellent ideas. Many ladies in our
community are searching for outlets to participate and
enjoy the fruits of Altrusa.

All of these ladies are
important! They will lead us in the right direction.
With all of the members’ involvement and support,
Altrusa will continue to grow.
I remember my Mother
saying “if life was always wonderful, we wouldn’t enjoy
the good times”.
We are following many
wonderful leaders and members. Our aim this year is to
enjoy everything we do by promoting the Altrusa name and
utilizing my theme for the year “Altrusa, Helping Hands
in the Community”.
Thank you for your
confidence in electing me your President. I assure you
I will be there every step of the way to help each
committee as needed. I challenge each of you to bring
in one new member. This is our club and it depends on
each one of us.
